We spent as much time as we could the last two days working on cleaning out the back corner of the yard near Oliver's tree. It's getting a sandbox eventually, and I thought that would be good motivation to not only clean out all the overgrown weeds but also finally start creating some dog free areas in the yard. Maybe even grow plants. Crazy.
It was rough. The temperatures are sky high, so for Gabriel to be outside for more than two minutes is an undertaking. Naked, on towels, in the shade with a fan aimed at him. We dug and chopped and hauled and breastfed frequently (maybe that was only me), then build a little white makeshift fence with lattice to keep the dogs out. Then today we took Eleanor out to the yard after school, and Richard caught a lizard that was climbing Oliver's tree. Eleanor touching a lizard for the first time = hot, exhausting work totally worth it.
