Sometimes firefighters have to fight fires

Eleanor loves firefighters. She thinks everything about them is amazing, from the ladders, trucks, and hoses, to the fire hydrant on our block. She is lucky to have her very own firefighter friend, and he invited her to visit his fire station yesterday. We drove down to south Dallas bearing brownies (firefighters like brownies), when lo and behold we saw smoke. Then we saw lots of firetrucks and firefighters, including Eleanor's friend Aaron, doing what they do best. Eleanor said "I want to go help!" Although I'm sure she would have been very helpful, we vetoed that plan and went to the zoo instead.
One of the most amazing things about the Dallas Zoo is this stream:

We apparently impressed very strongly upon Eleanor the importance of having dry panties, because after her clothes got wet she kept trying to strip off her wet pants and underwear every time I wasn't looking.
Gabriel also enjoyed the zoo:

And Eleanor adopted a zoo employee who read her a book and let her pet a snake!
