She speaks!

Eleanor said her first words today! Here's what happened: we were all outside working on cleaning out the garage and enjoying the nice weather. Richard walked up to Eleanor and I, and I waved at him and said "Hi daddy," and Eleanor waved at him too (she's been waving for a week or two now). Then he went back inside. The next time he walked out, I waved again, but this time Eleanor said "Hi dada." I started, then turned and looked at her - I thought I must have imagined it! It was pretty quiet that first time, so Richard couldn't hear her from where he was standing. Then she looked back at him again and said it louder and more clearly so we could both hear her. Wow! How exciting and fun!! This kid is full of surprises.
