12 Day Update

It's been busy here in Monkey land! Eating, sleeping, diaper changes, being adorable. . . she keeps us running. Mostly we spend a lot of time just looking at her. Eleanor has been on lots of exciting trips in the last few days, too. We've been to Half Price Books (got to start her early :) ), Target, Whole Foods, and on a long walk through the neighborhood to have dinner at Jason's Deli. We've found that people don't try to touch her as long as she is in a sling or Richard is carrying her (I think he seems more intimidating than me, I'm not sure why).
We also went to Adrienne, Michael, and Ruby's house for Memorial Day and grilled steaks, and while we were there we learned an important lesson. Shortly after getting to their house I said something to the effect of: "gee, she really hasn't had any really bad messes, we mostly only change her clothes because we want to (pajamas, cute pink outfit, things like that)." We did not knock on wood. Silly parents, in the course of that afternoon we then went through 4 different outfits - all the spare ones we'd brought plus one of Ruby's old ones. All kinds of messes, one right after the other. Oops.
Our adventure today was a trip to the photographer for newborn pictures. We had a lot of fun, and Eleanor was a really good sport. Most newborn pictures are done with the baby to sleep, so we brought her during what we thought was naptime. Monkey did not get the message, however, and was bright-eyed and bushy tailed for nearly the entire session. We can't complain - her eyes are so pretty - and can't wait to see the pictures.
